Artist Statement
Standing like a road block between the body and the ego is the "das-ding"; what Kaja Silverman refers to as the unattainable non-object of desire.  These paintings postulate the body freed from it's limitations.  It is allowed to accrue portions of its ideal and to consume pieces of perfection which are manifest alongside evidence of physical trauma and the decoration of its memory.
