Artist Statement
I make work that aims to re-orient our relationships to the objects, people, and ideas around us. The current work, Re-Orientation Opps, has a sculptural focus, putting people in direct conversation with diverse elements such as building materials, table legs, architecture, language, and photographs.

As an inter-related grouping of works, the R.O.s utilize scale, situation, and interconnectivity towards a re-viewing and re-doing of daily life.

R.O.s attempt to use the vernacular - linguistic, visual, or object-based - that society offers. R.O.s then rearrange this vernacular to highlight potential ways of understanding and communicating different from that which is proscribed. The R.O. framework comes from an attempt to first place the work within the realities of our contemporary society, as opposed to prior avant-garde models that situated themselves outside society.
