Artist Statement
Inspiration for my work comes directly from life experiences and expressed directly within the perspective of feminist dialogue. I utilize objects and techniques associated with the domestic environment, ribbon, fabric, wallpaper and thread. As a medium wallpaper is suited as a reference to explore issues of childhood memories, formative experiences and gender construction, ideas that I am interested in. Because of its association to the home, there is a connection with wallpaper to the daily work of women; as a backdrop in the private sphere, wallpaper bears witness to the most intimate lives of people
