Statement
This work is generated from walks and explorations in urban parks, where nature and culture intersect and are often conflated. My responses to this constructed representation of the natural take the form of implements and sculptural objects that refer to relationship, distance and proximity. These implements are meant to heighten perception and frame the often-overlooked elements of our environment.
Speaking as much of futility as they do of utility, each one has a specialized purpose, yet any one is inadequate to provide answers. As qualitative subjective research, the work’s aim is not for answers or conclusions but contemplative investigation.
