Artist Statement
I paint memories of the landscapes I have seen, and re-capture those same images in new imagined spaces that are created by paint pours. I weave an abstract space and a reality where human habitation sprawls across the surface of this new site. The thick, glossy enamel erupts on the canvas and causes a reaction to other paints by cracking and flowing in both a playful and toxic way. This duality conveys a sense of both the beauty and contamination of the American landscape.
